Cristina Rivera is the President and Founder of Nutrition in Motion, P.C. She holds a
Bachelor of Science degree in clinical psychology and completed a Master of Science degree in clinical nutrition from New York University. Cristina is licensed and credentialed as a Registered Dietitian (RD), New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist (CDN) and holds board certifications in both sports nutrition and eating disorders treatment. Cristina has over 10 years of experience working as a board certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD), the premier sports nutrition professional certification. Cristina has worked with athletes and sports medicine teams and at the high school, college, professional and Olympic levels. Cristina’s ideology is that food is fuel for the body. Adequate and individualized fueling for one’s body allows for peak performance and optimal health, both mentally and physically. As a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS), Cristina has had extensive training and over 10 years of experience in the treatment of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, ARFID and other specified feeding or eating disorders. Cristina is an iaedp approved supervisor and provides case consultation and training to other healthcare professionals working in the field of eating disorders. Having a combined expertise in sports nutrition and eating disorders, Cristina possesses a comprehensive and specific skill set to work within the overlap of athletes with eating disorders. Cristina is an advocate for equity and inclusion in healthcare, food access and the treatment that is provided to marginalized populations. Through community outreach, service and education, Cristina aims to reduce barriers to treatment and provide increased representation within the field of professionals. Cristina is an anti-diet dietitian and uses a culturally competent framework when she is counseling, consulting and providing professional supervision. |
